In particular, I am thinking of an exhaust for my 348. What are the differences between the factory Challenge exhaust and a Tubi?

I heard that the challenge is simply straight pipe w/ no baffling in it whatever. I may be wrong.

TO HEAR THE STRAIGHT PIPE EXHAUST, CLICK ABOVE, IT PLAYS AT THE END.

I have both exhaust, have not had to change to the street challenge yet. It is loud, very loud. I have tape of me in a tunnell near Asheville, NC on the parkway. Will post that soon.

The 348 with a Tubi is awesome!!! i have heard it and IMO it is the second best sounding system (after a 355 - im sure plenty of 360 tubi owners will dispute this)...

but i havent heard the challenge exhaust so i cannot compare sorry! Go with the tubi...you will not be disappointed.

I have the loud Challenge exhaust (and hollow cats) on my car, and while it's fine for a track car like mine, it's entirely too loud for the street. There's no comparison between a Tubi and a real Challenge exhaust; the latter is MUCH louder, and is best reserved for its intended use- it'll leave you partially deaf after anything more than a short drive without a helmet.

I have had both! The Challenge exhaust is LOUD. Way too loud to drive for distances daily. No more sneeking in at 2am after a night out. The nieghborhood will know you are home, probably the entire City.

I remember the day Byron drove away from my house, when he picked up his 348Challenge and I could hear him until he parked the car in South Beach 20min later :)
It is loud in the car and louder outside.

I can not wait until I get that car back :)

The stock CS exhaust seems to do a really good job at varying noise depending on RPM. At idle it's fairly quiet -- MUCH more quiet than my older 360 with a tubi was. At mid-range it's loud, but not crazy. At full throttle, zipping through the gears, it may be as loud as the tubi, I don't know. It's certainly loud, but I've asked friends who've followed me in both cars what was louder, and they seem to recall the tubi (obviously I don't have both cars at the same time to do a proper test).

What is certainly louder is the in-cabin sound. My old 360 under full throttle, while deafening my friends behind me, was still mild in the cabin for the driver and passenger. With the less sound deadening in the CS, it gets pretty loud in the cabin (but not so loud you need a helmet by any means). In fact, I love it :) I didn't buy the CS to listen to a CD player :)
