Hello guys posting after a long time. I have been wanting to jump into the maserati quattroporte for about 2 years. I have heard of horror stories of maintenance cost regarding clutch and other misc items. I have been waiting for a late 07 or above with full auto to dip to mid 45 level but can't wait any longer. My question is I have found a 06 with 10k miles. Clean and reasonably priced at 40k with service records. I will be driving it about 6k miles a year. Just casual driving no hard stuff. I do plan to keep the car for a long time. What would be my maintenance cost a year. Should I really wait out and get a full auto.

    Thanks as always.

If you plan on keeping the car long term, I suggest you should wait for a full auto car, which doesn't have the maintenance of the clutch.

    Thanks for your valuble input.

Can someone suggest how much a full auto car would cost to maintain with 6000 miles a year.

    Thanks

It is very hard to answer your question, because maintenance costs depend on a lot of factors, for example:

    1) do you go to the dealer or an independent mechanic?
    2) do you do any DIY work yourself?
    3) the way you drive (do you track the car? drive "sporty" or just cruse?)
    4) etc etc

Overall, I would say that a QP costs as much as any other high end car.

Assuming you are not a DIYer

Oil and filter changes are only suggested for annual replacement - probably $200-300
Factory suggests "annual service" meaning replacement of most fluids but my experience suggests that most do them every other year (as most independent shops recommend). This service runs $1500-1800.
That's about all of the required service.

With 10k miles per year you're probably looking at tires (assuming they are low profile, ultra high performance) probably need replacing every 2-3 years.
Life of the clutch produced many stories and of course is directly related to driving habits. Primarily the % of city versus open road driving, A pretty good average seems to be 20-25k miles.

Definitely get a PPI on any car that you are looking at. Get one from an experienced and qualified Maserati tech. Be certain that a diagnostic on remaining clutch life is included.

Many would argue these values but I think they represent a good basis for a car that's driven frequently, driven aggressively but not tracked, and cared for knowledgeably.
