Differences in valve clearance between 348 w Cat and Moandial T w Cat?

I am currently checking the valve clearance of my Mondial t engine (from 1990, Motronic 2.5) and it seems that the inlet is in spec, all over 0.20 mm and under 0.25 mm, but the exhaust seem to be set tight, all over 0.30 mm but under 0.35 mm - the workshop manual gives the specification 0.20 - 0.25 mm for the inlet, and 0.35 - 0.40 mm for the exhaust.

Looking at the forum I see that for the 348 there seem to be a general recommendation to set the exhaust tighter for 348:s with a catalyst (0.30 - 0.35 mm for the exhaust.) while the non-catalyst 348:s should have the same as the workshop manual for the Mondial T specifies.

I downloaded the 348 workshop manual, but the version I found cites only the range .20 - .25mm for the inlet, and .35 - .40 mm for the exhaust.

So my question is if I should set up the Mondial T with catalyst as the recommendation for 348 (which it seem to have been done) or as the workshop manual?

...and if I don't and keep it at 0.30, will my engine burn to cinder or will it effect the performance or emissions? :O
