All 84's and 85's are supposed to only have one. Mine is an 84 with one cat. I know because I have been a test pipe/hyperflow guy over the past 18 years. But it has three working cat lights and the two on the dash are the 1-4 and 5-8 just like a two cat car. I promise, it is the only one like this.
This is not true as far as I can tell. There are plenty of '84s (mine included) that have black rockers.
Here you can see the dash cat 5-8 and the single cat light on the instrument pod in my 84. I will post a better picture when I get home. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have black rockers (84). My car was repainted, but I have found no evidence that it was repainted anything other than factory.
Mine's an October '83 build German EURO 308 with the following - black rocker panels - color matched (red) A-pillar's - two (2) cats - TRX tires - short (flush) rear deck lid fins - No (zero) Slow Down lights - Two (2) black knobs interesting...
My October 1983 build US-spec has: - black rocker panels - black A pillars - two cats - 16" Cromadoras - wrap around rear louvers - two slow down lights - two black knobs - smooth dull finish rear spoiler - a partridge in a pear tree
Mine is an '83 (Aug '83 build) with color tone rocker panels. Late calendar year '83's were black. '84/'85's are black. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/485140-texture-paint-under-door.html
Look at the "metal ridge" on the inside of the front hood near the driver side, left is a 85 GTS with a straight profile, right is a 83 GTB with a curved profile. Both with single front hood latch. Did not notice that if my friend did not point it out. The picture is a bit dark though. What about yours? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine is a June 84' car too and also has the snap. June was near the very end of the 84' line and I'm guessing little things like that were starting to be implemented gearing up for the 85' cars in the next month or so.
My '83...yep Hmmm. then why are replacement tanks lacking the extra bung hole for the switch if 83-85 need 'em? My '83 - York '83 oil cooler - Matte black It all comes back to "Hey Luigi - I'ma outta da thingies for dis part. Whatcha got over there that I canna use? Any from last year's model?"
http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/boxers-tr-m/206318-boxer-aspera-compressor-help-needed.html York = Aspera (the rectangular type) See post #3 in the above thread. http://www.rparts.com/index.php?cPath=84_13_1_3_50 Sankyo = Sanden (the round type)
'82-'86 Euro 308 QV do not have a coolant thermoswitch in the expansion tank -- are you confusing "replacements" between versions? early euro 308QV = 116589; late euro 308QV = 120273 = no bungs '83 US 308QV = 114475 = has two bungs - one for coolant thermoswitch, one for EGR thermo-pneumatic valve '84-'85 US 308QV = 121647 = has one bung for coolant thermoswitch
Hello, I would like to come back to this old subject and in particular on the point raised by piezo in his post # 34. I tried to date the change of the upper structure of the front cover but without real precision (from curved to a straight reinforcement). For the moment, I'm considering the change between chassis 45327 and 46497. If ever there are Quattrovalvole owners between these two numbers, I will appreciate their return on the subject. I guess this is the kind of detail that interests only me but I think it could be useful to some if it is documented on the site dedicated to the 308. Thank you very much for your help
My 81 GTSi has no Pininfarina badge on either side and no holes in the bodywork for one filled-in and it has original paint.
