Hi, I got my 19" Superamerica rims from Exoticar Auto and everything worked perfectly, thanks Chris! The problem I've got is that I actually really like my old BBS LM as well. Life's hard, what do you folks think? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
+1. Although the BBS are beautiful, IMHO they compete with the beauty of the Maranello. The SA wheels perfectly compliment that beauty. Ruben
Exactly my thought, I like the BBS better than Superamerica "on there own" but they are a bit to much bling-bling on the Maranello and take all attention.
Superamerica would be my choice, though personally I prefer the standard wheels - simple, clean design. And easy to keep clean, too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I personally like the BBS LM's, BUT should you want to part with them I will gladly take them off your hands.
Use one set with snow tires for the winter and the other set with high performance tires for the rest of the year.
incidentally, those are not strictly Superamerica wheels. They are the optional 575M wheels, which were standard on the Superamerica. They became available around SN 130000 in Summer 2002, over two years before the Superamerica was introduced. Much, much prefer them to the BBS LMs.
There are some great wheel suppliers on this forum. I am looking for a used set of 575 OEM 18” if anyone has them collecting dust in their garage.
Haha, this car wouldn't last long on salty Swedish roads i'm afraid. But it doesn't matter, I believe 550 is a terrible car on slippery winter roads, snow tires or not...
I started of with the standard 18" wheels as well but I want the wheel to "fill up" the wheelhouse better. There's a lot of room with the originals, specially in the rear and with no spacers. But I agree with the clean look!
Both are 19". The rear tires on BBS are 325x30 and on SA 305x30. 11" width and 10,5" respectively. So you are partly correct, BBS are larger but within the legal limit, at least over here. The BBS has also 15mm spacers mounted in the rear which I will use on the SA as well but I don't have long enough bolts at the moment.
I had the same problem. I had the 19in LMs on mine for about 4 years and while I think they are beautiful wheels, I agree that they are too much for the car. I am now running the real 19in SA wheels and I find them fantastic looking, and compliment the car perfectly. That being said, I do think about changing them back and forth to mix it up, but I havent't in over a year
Haha, there are always people with the same "problem". I thought of that strategy as well and the time will tell what you like the most. Life's tough...
