    Hello all

New to the forum just bought a 2021 Roma. Absolutely love the car, but just encountered my first issue. The front hood/bonnet is difficult to close. It's closes onto the latch easy enough but doesn't click into the final lock place very easily. Dealer tells me I have to push hard about 6 inches from the end of the hood to make it latch. Is this normal on the Roma? I feel like I'm going to dent the hood with how much force it takes?

Welcome to the Fchat forums. Using the California/Portofino/Roma forum under the Model Specific Discussions is another good place to ask the type of question you raise here. If I have a question like this about my Cali T, I would drop by the dealer service center and ask for a demo of how to secure the hood/bonnet. Putting a dent in the hood/bonnet is undesirable and proper hand load distribution on hood/bonnet varies by car manufacturer and model.

Thank you very much for helping me navigate and for the advice. Will visit dealer next week, I had made a call yesterday when it happened and sales guy told me this was normal and push hard, I just can't believe this would be normal for such a spectacular brand!

I had the same sort of question when I got my 430. Really? I have to shove it down with my hand? But yes, that was how it worked. Let it drop till it half way latches, then press down right on the hood badge (on the 430) till it latches all the way. I imagine it allows for a lighter mechanism than big springs and heavy duty latches.

Never DROP the hood on Ferraris— just place it down and then press the Ferrari badge as you said on a F430– Mercedes/AMG, on the contrary, it is proper to drop the hood from about 1-2 ft to close
