    I am not an owner and can therefore make no contribution to this thread, but I have a thing for the classic models while they remain(ed) "unrestored" - in all their beaten-up, patinaed glory, with owners who gets their hands dirty and make repairs with bailing wire.

    I would love to see more pictures in a dedicated thread.

    great thread. why people buy 30++ year old cars and insist that everything be "as new" is beyond me. Just drive the damn car, fix the major leaks and safety issues, and just drive the damn car. :)

    love the pics. i too prefer original , faded paint, to some shiny new skin that has not stood the test of time.

    Of course, I'm considering repainting my 365, but the paint that's on it now isn't original.

    lets keep this going...sorry but my contribution is a little OT. This was an unloved early SI E Type that suffered a V8 conversion.

    There's a BMW 328 buried somewhere in there too...

    Original 328? yes, but its a cut up shell. Located in Kentucky, but the owner won't let me near it. I was able to buy the jag but it was very, very bad. Only gauges and some rear axle parts were salvageable. The nose will be hanging in my barn as a momento.

    lest see what else I can find in my archives...
