Same question for anyone heading there from the North. Any point you want to meet up? Who is travelling from the North in fact?!

 

This hasn't been sorted out fully yet Tony, although the consensus of opinion seemed to concur that a 5pm meet would be a good idea.

I suppose it depends which way round the M25 the Kent lot go that will dictate the meeting point. If we go anti-clock then I guess we'll be meeting up at Dartford at 5 and probably catching up with others on the M1, at Toddington services probably

If we go clockwise then I suppose we'd be meeting at Clacketts at 5, before catching up with others, including yourself at the S3.

The original plan was to avoid the clockwise route as it's too busy, but that was based on the original plan of going early Sunday morning.

We need some opions posting really. How busy is the Heathrow section at around 5.30 on a Sunday? I guess that will sway the decision

 

There are still roadworks at the Heathrow section which makes it worse than normal. I've gotta go that way so it makes no difference to me. I think it will be fairly busy at around 5:30pm, but I'm not sure it will be any quieter anti-clockwise will it?

Which is shortest miles-wise for the Kent boys?

Expect the M1 to be busy as well of course.

If we're eating at 8pm then maybe we should leave earlier to give Joe a chance to put his face on when we get there ;-)

 

For me it's equidistant to within a tenth of a mile. I think it will be marginally shorter for the majority of the Kent boys to go anti clock so I'd be surprised if we don't go round the top

 

joe should be okey in traffic in his automatic he dont have a clutch to use stopping and starting

Looks like options are:
- meet at South Mimms (that's about 8 miles past the M1 for me, assuming can get over to the other side of the road easily)
- meet at Toddington (first services on M1 - J12)
- or meet at the hotel.

edit: any other suggestions closer to M25 J21? 21a is only just down the road but not sure if there is a place we can stop and wait.

Something to think about

edit: Although there's very little parking there or in surrounding side roads. You may get 4 or 5 at MS at a squeeze if they've taken the Ferraris off the forecourt for the night. The Shell garage at 21A is out of action in a big way at the moment too...

Ok here's another suggestion for a meeting point for those going different directions around the M25 to meet.

This is a Holiday Inn just less than one mile from M1 J8.

Yes, I shall be there! Ray and I will up at our usual time of five o'clock and setting off early in the morning. We shall be travelling in convoy and estimate the 170 mile journey to take just a little over one hour. I understand one or two are to break their journey half way - and stop over-night.
