    Hey to all my Chicago F-chatters. I'm going to be down in Northbrook on Friday night and am looking for a nice ($50-$70 plate) dinner for my fiancee and I. Any recommendations? I'm not too familiar with the area so any help would be great, thanks everyone.

    I grew up in Northbrook and my folks still live there. Charlie Beinlichs on Skokie BLVD. has the greatest Cheeseburger's I've ever had.

    Great info guys, thanks for the help. She loves Japanese so maybe we'll end up there. Yet to be determined.

    You could try the Valley Lodge on Slokie Blvd in Glenview (right around the corner from Northbrook) - great food, homey atmosphere. The filet mignon sandwiches are fabulous. Best saginaki outside of Greektown!

    or Tapas Gitana in Northfield. Bar none the best Tapas in Chicagoland. If its nice, you can eat outside. Try their "white" sangria! I love the place!

    Hole in the Wall is also quite good.

    of course, there is always Ruth's Chris and Mortons for the big steak throw down.

    Im in Northbrook. Tonights menu is Taco's if you want to swing by. I'll only charge $30/plate. Heck I will go out and get whatever kind of beer you want to go with your dinner.

    I personally really liked Tramonto's Steak House in Wheeling.

    Fujiyama is also great for sushi. Nothing terribly romantic about it, but nice place.

    Thanks for the info guys. Unfortunately with the weather, all hell broke loose up here when we were planning on heading down so the trip has been postponed until we can find a good next time. Thanks for all the help and advice though, much appreciated and definitely noted for further trips south!
