    Good luck.

I think further proof that the Coupes are the more desirable car.

Sheehan(www.ferraris-online.com) has 1973 246 GTS No. 06452 listed on his website for $229,500. Original chairs/flares car, black over red, now yellow over tan. Books, tools, etc. You might use that car as a marker.

True 'get in and drive' Dino's are extremely hard to come by regardless of what many car dealers are advertisting. Most have either been given shiny paint and plump seats and called 'restored' while others sat for ages and received a quicky service to prepare it for sale.

That said, having seen this car up close myself, I can say that this car is the definition of a fresh complete restoration that has been sorted and recently driven to work out the bugs. Everything has been done to a very high standard and this is the perfect car for someone who just wants to get in and drive.

What may hurt the value a little is that the restoration was not done to exact concours correct detail as Jon chose to personalize the car a little as he went along. Concours cars bring a premium however they are normally used very little and eventually dry up and rot due to lack of use resulting in hefty service bills from NOT using them. As such this car appeals to the owner / driver and is not intended to be a trailer queen.

I belive that given its history and that it is located and registered in California (local to the biggest market in the US). I would think that this car should bring in just on or over $200K. Quite simply, if you cannot turn the wrenches yourself and buy what is out there for the $150-$170 range, you will EASILY surpass it trying to get it close to this car. Pay now and drive or pay later and wait. Good luck with the sale Jon.

Lastly I'd be interested to see how many of those 'Man if you ever sell the car I'd be all over that' guys come forward. There are a lot of talkers out there and let's see if any of them seriously stand behind their words.

In the interest of moving it, anything with a '2' in front of it is the right price. It's not a original Daytona spider so there is not a line of people who are wanting to pay whatever you ask for it. From what I have noticied, cars below the $350k-$400k beltline seem to be this way.

I'm not sure if your car is platinum or not, but even if it's not it will take very little to make it that way for the buyers who would want to show the thing.

    If I had $250k, which I don't, I'd be writing a hopeful check.

A bit off topic, but having been the original owner of #06450 that I bought from the showroom floor of Orange Motors in Miami in 1973, I find it interesting how sister cars were maunufactured so different in options. 06450 was a typical USA GTS , Red/White interior, no flairs or chairs and standard wheels.

I have spent over $ 60,000 trying to get my dino in near perfect condition
and i am still not happy. Since i also drive the car, it seems i fix/paint something
one year and find it chipped or worn some time latter.
This is the car to buy and be done with it all in one shot!

Probably break even...I still think a few more $$$ is more in line.
Definitely the way to go. Buy this car, and you have a new Dino. A documented restoration, and it is included with the car. Talk about complete! Good luck Jon...

Jon- How hard would it be to replace the air conditioning you did not need? Although admittedly not the best A/C in the world, many places make it a necissity.

Jon- If there is a $250K Dino out there, yours is it. That would value you and your son's labor at about $1/hour, so someone would get a bargain.

And 07836 is a two time Bella Italia first place winner

Here is a photo of the A/C system.
I've wanted to improve my Dino's A/C but still keep it close to stock appearance.
    I've sourced these:
    New A/C compressor $350
    Aluminum condensor $170
    dryer $35

Thanks for your input. I'm going to put a price of $214,000 and see what happens. I haven't advertised it yet and will just take it slow. My new project has arrived and I have to make room at some point.

Feel free to wait for however long it will take me to purchase. On second thought, that may be longer than you are willing to wait.

I think that you have priced the car about right in todays market.
An exemplary renovation, the fact that it's not an original flared arch car may put off a purist buyer though.
