I've always liked the 206GT. This one looks nice. Anyone familiar with the car? http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages/cardetail.php?reqcardir=FE-206GT-00396 He also just listed a 246GTS http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=FE-246GTS-07888 I remember there was one or two out there looking for Dinos... -steve
The 246 looks okay. But it needs the seats reseamed, they aren't Daytonas, needs door panels and carpet, so you're looking at every bit of $3-5K to get the interior nice. The wheels are wrong for the car. Shouldn't have Campy's without the flared wheel arches, I don't think. Steering wheel is toast, and we all know how easy and inexpensive that is to repair or replace. $1200 to replace, $600 or so to repair. Gear shift knob is wrong, too. Finally, does the rear end on this car look like it's sitting high? So, at $85K, that's pretty much list price plus, don't you think? Although if that's market price, then I'm happy.
Yes it does look like it is sitting high. Also whats with that ugly door trim, I have never seen one on a dino, yuk.
the 246 that is listed looks to be modified based on the exterior inserts alone (the rubber pieces placed within the body inserts). i have no idea about the rest of the car other than what michael says, and, from my experience with him, he doesn't bs the car, the car seems to be solid. the 206, has obviously been modded up very heavily. i can't say for certain. but, in my opinion, the car is overpriced based on the listed specs. this car is far from original and the price should reflect as such.
With my 246 "L" Series which has mostly 206 details I know how hard it is to get original stuff like bumpers etc. Why would anyone put on a mirror like that on a Dino? It looks like a Camaro mirror with a remote control. Also the dashboard is all wrong. The HVAC controls should be in the center console. It has a later dashboard. Also the firewall mounted headrests are missing. I think the credibility of the ad would have benifited if these things were called out and the car priced appropriately. The steering wheel is correct though.
