    Hear is a picture of my polished aluminum firewall shield (note the reflection). The big question is did they all have this shield. The parts book shows it but the Pininfarina parts book doesn't. From what I can discern my 5000 serial number car didn't have one. I was hoping another 246 owner could tell me their car didn't have one too. Not a problem to replicate but I like to keep them in original form.

    my 74 gts has the shield that is aluminum, but i wouldn't say that it is polished. it has a "normal" aluminum finish.

    My 246GT 1972 (#2900) has the aluminum shield.
