I'm sorry, I'm not sure what a series M is!

Ferrari Dinos were built in four series; 206(1968-1969 all coupes), 246GT "L" Series(1969-1970 all coupes), 246GT "M" Series(1970-1972 all coupes), 246GT "E" Series(1972-1974 coupes and spyders).

I looked this car up on the Dino register and it was registered in Feb 1972 - is there a big (or subtle) difference between the M and E series?

    Thanks

Visually very subtle. From what I've read and seen, the "M" Series had thin bumpers (like the 206 and "L" Series) up to chassis *01250*, then came the thicker bumpers. At some point(don't know when, the front bumper stopped right at the front grill opening and the wipers went in the same direction vs overlapping). I've also seen some later cars that were painted matt black behind the seats inside the glass area. The "E" cars introduced the "flairs and chairs" option as well as the spyder/GTS.
