Beautiful car(s) Scott. Interesting comparison, I think the 8C is one of the most timeless beauties to come out in the past years. How does it drive? Is it a metallic or solid red?

    Thanks for sharing,

    scott,

you like i admire the beauty, but you can't discount out the heigth, the dino looks so much better becuase of it's "tinyness", i love the alfa, but if it was "shorter", it would looke better

This is when I really miss John Corbani - he would be all over this ... and the Dino would win.

Certainly a lot of genetic material in common.

It would actually match up more easily to a 246 GT (rather than S) because of the roof curve on the GT vs the flatter GTS.

My first reaction to the first pic was that the Alfa looked like an SUV compared to the Dino! Then seeing it outdoors with the Maranello behind it confirmed the fact. A curvaceous car to be sure but WOW, how HUGE!!! My lust factor for the car has just dropped by half. :(

They do look a lot similar, I notice both are equipped with 4 wheels, a windscreen, side windows, one could easily mistake one for the other by night from a mile away.

Looking at the sid-by-side comparison pictures of the Alfa and the Dino reminded me of the picture of my blue Dino and Cayman which John Corbani was kind enough to post for me soon after I joined this forum last summer. The Cayman, in the background, looks like an ambulance in comparison to the Dino! Fred

I am in full agreement. I adore the Dino. I lust after the Maranello. The Alfa? I love some of its curves, but it looks bloated and out of proportion to my eyes.

    Metallic rosso.
Quick like an untamed tiger and an exhaust sound like ripping burlap

Have you seen the Alfa Romeo Diva? This looks like the modern Dino to me with a bit of enzo influence

    I own the garage.
but I got a ride to a FCA club event in one of the two Alfa 8Cs that attended, only 500 made:

Yes, but it still is nimble.

The first time I saw pictures of the Alfa I thought, wow, a modern with nice curves. About the same time the Dino came to mind.

Now seeing them together it is clear that the Alfa is so much larger. That was to be expected though. It is still nice to see a modern that makes you think classic!

The similarities would be stronger to the GT because of the taper toward the rear of the side windows also.

I think it is the relationship between the front fender, roof, hips and window lines that made my mind say Dino.
