Hello, My name is Enrique and I' am from Argentina. It's my first time writing in the forum, but I' am a regular reader as it is a very good source of information. Thanks for that. We are doing some major works on a 1974 Dino GTS. I' am looking for a good parts source in the USA, as I have a large list of spares to buy. I have contacted Ricambi America, but unfortunately, Daniel told me that he cannot supply spares for that model. I have bought some spares to Dino Parts from Germany in the past, always with good results, but for some reason, shippings from Europe are way more difficult to enter Argentina than USA shippings. The car's air pump system for emissions control has been removed a long time ago by the previous owner, but the manifolds still the original ones with the aluminium flange and air injectors between the cylinder head and the exhaust manifolds. Do you know if I can replace the manifolds with the italian version to eliminate the aluminum flange and air injectors or I will have to make custom manifolds? Thanks in advance. Enrique
Remove the injector blocks then bolt manifold to head directly or plug injector block and leave install. if you want superior flow, unscrew inject pipe and then plug the blanked holes in injector block and leave install
Sergio- if Enrique installs Euro manifolds, will he also need to match them with a Euro muffler system due to the spacing/alignment between the manifolds and the muffler system?
I am not sure which parts you describe or where you can get. It is also odd this Dino is American one? Any snaps? Exhaust always seems to need small moves to fit back - one jet hot from same car would requuire forces to put bacK in place originali. To be helpful, here are some American parts supplier: https://awitalian.com/ https://gtcp.com/product-category/browse-parts-by-car/ferrari/dino-206-246/ https://www.ferraripartscatalog.com/searchresults.asp?searching=Y&sort=1&search=246 &show=10&page=1 http://www.trutlands.com/tav_index.php?veh=246_Dino https://www.allferrariparts.com/dino-246-page-12--exhaust-pipes-assembly.html https://www.blackopsautoworks.com/collections/Ferrari-Dino-246-GT-Parts-and-Accessorie and there is always dinopoint https://sites.google.com/view/dinopointvideo https://sites.google.com/view/ricambidino
Hello Sergio, thanks for your answer. I don't think I can fit the manifolds without the aluminium blocks. These are 27mm thick + the gaskets. With the blocks installed there is really not much space between the exhaust and some parts, for example the starter motor. One of the main reasons for replacing the exhausts is that they are not in great shape and without the blocks, shorter studs will be required so that will make easier installation and removal. We already have a SS Tubistyle muffler. Thanks for the links, I will check if someone can provide the spares I need. Some in the list are water hoses, water pipes, water tank, gaskets sets, AC hoses, suspension bushings, brakes repair set, 4 koni shocks, etc. The car was running but many of those parts were original, so it deserves a good check and refresh. Thanks for your help Enrique
GT car parts or Rutlands will have the best used manifolds The best hoses to look - the diagonal wrap original style are found at Ferrari Parts Exchange but I do not see all now https://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/collections/types?constraint=cooling-system&q=206+%26+246+Dino Water tank is made by GTO Engineering under FIM license, now all suppliers seem over $500 USD Water pipes and A/C are best from Dino Parts MaseratiSource on ebay sells bushings to almost all USA sellers Sounds like the huge project - any snaps?
Thanks Sergio, very useful info. There are some photos of the car I will keep you updated. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mr fiat has several "not USA" manifolds at great prices on ebay https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=246+ferrari+manifold&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1313
