anyone know the correct position for the top & bottom hinge pins ?
When I removed the doors on mine , the top hinge pin had the greaser at the bottom & the bottom pin had it at the top, so to remove them I hit the top pin down & the bottom pin up. If I replace them with the top pin greaser up (easier to do) it may be harder to remove in the future as the bottom pin would need to be removed & then the top pin removed with a long drift through the bottom hinge holes.
Could somebody please have a look at theirs & see which way they go?

    Thank you,
    Cliff Donnon,

The correct orientation is as you describe. The curve of the chassis, in most cases, will not permit the top pin from being inserted from above. I suspect, however, if you partially insert the upper pin into the upper hinge of the door before bringing the door to the car, that you MIGHT be able to carefully insert the door into the hinges in such a way that you can clear the curve.

I have had my doors on and off many times during the past several weeks as I approach painting the car. The best orientation is as you describe.

Carefully and generously grease the pins and clean the hinges with a spiral brush. Once these pins rust to either the door or the chassis, it is nearly impossible to remove them in the future. Lubricate periodically!!!!!

The 308 also uses the same pin. I used 308 replacements.

I bought some from Dennis McCann which were junk. Didn't fit right, just were not any good. (Which, BTW, is the only thing I ever got from Dennis that didn't fit or work well.)

I was working on getting some replacements made when I stumbled on a set on ebay, which is where mine came from.

I was told that t. rutlands has nice ones.

GT Car Parts in Arizona has original-design pins. I have purchased several sets of 4 from them over the past months. Nice pins, fit well, quick service.
