I’m in the process of adjusting the valves on my 246GT and was cleaning up the valve covers when I noticed the valve cover gaskets I purchased for the car don’t appear to be the correct ones. There does not seem to be a cut out for the distributor or the cam caps. I checked the supplier web site and the gaskets I ordered are the only ones for a 1972 E series model. The only way I can see to make these fit is to cut them to fit. Am I missing something? I have included two photographs to show the issue. Any assistance would be appreciated.

You will have to cut the gasket. That’s how they’re manufactured to make them more solid for transport and damage during installation. Maybe try the search function and read some good installation hints. There is a few tricks you need to be aware to ensure no leaks. Good wrenching.

    best, Peter
