I have purposely posted this in the 206/246 Dino Forum... The GT4 was the “Next” Dino in the line of 206/246. We all know what history has been, or was, but...... Is it time we open the doors and welcome this?
There were several GT4s included at the Dino 50th. Anniversary reunion in Maranello a few years ago, which would seem to legitimize a place for the model in Dino history and heritage. Image Unavailable, Please Login As a GT4 (badged as a Dino) owner (and former owner of three front engine V12 Ferraris) I would have preferred that the factory had given the GT4 its own unique identity because it is Ferrari’s first mid-engine V8; first series produced V8; the only series produced Ferrari from Bertone/Gandini; the progenitor of an architecture (mid-engine V8) that has been produced by Ferrari during six decades, 1970s-2020s. Had the factory given it a unique nomenclature its history would have been enhanced as would have that of the 206/246, as the Dino name would not have been shared by two models that have little in common, except that they’re both great cars worthy of the Ferrari name.*
my Dino 208 GT4 #10820, lovely car... lacks a bit of power, but an 2 liter V8 engine is something special.... This is awesome!!! So interesting to see the two tone paint and period pictures showing how they were in period.
I’ve said many times, history will be kind to the GT4. It looks better with every passing year. Not to mention if you remove about 13 inches at the B pillar you nearly have a Stratos.
This one I took in 1974 during the BFOCS Annual Meet on the Bürgenstock near Lucerne, Switzerland. I was not even 17 at the time and didn't have a driver's licence yet. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login

I’ve always liked the 308GT4 for its innovative packaging of a mid-engine V8 and 2+2 seating. The silhouette is advanced. The styling features are pure.
I love this thread, and it makes me want another 308 GT4. The photo of the Verde Germoglio one is utterly amazing, as are all of the period photos.
Just having a bit of fun envisioning a 2 seater version. 308GT2? Marcel, Hope you’re OK with me using your photo as the base!? Freeman Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
