I thought I might get a little more traction on this subject here rather than the technical column as the Dino 246 chatter is fairly strong. Has anyone done an update to the alternator fuse box on the firewall? All the used ones I have had are melted around the large spade connection. Looks to carry too much load or has too much resistance and the connector gets hot and starts melting the fuse box base.

    GEEZ -

Are you talking about the odd looking 40 (?) amp fuse that is not listed in the parts manuals?

    I'll check mine and see.

Replaced mine when I bought it.

Got the part from Dennis McCann, Ferrari UK or Superformance, can't remember which. Cleaned the connectors, and rewired it. Haven't had a problem since.

Carry a spare main fuse in the glovebox.

Annoying job, only in that it's a tight space, but not difficult. Only issue I had was that the connectors seem to use the fuse itself to hold themselves in place.

Oh, and no matter what I do, the cover doesn't seem to want to stay on.
