i am the culprit for the dino books. these books are rare. if you don't have them, there are few places you can go to get them. i agree that these dollar amounts are nuts, but what can you do? so many cars have "lost" their books. i am collecting these books for "fun". many dino owners don't have books. i am not looking to make a profit, but dino items are hard to come by. one reason, more than anything else, i recommend to dino "buyers" to make sure that their potential cars have tools and books is for this reason. these items aren't cheap.

at $3700.00, you can't just buy a set of books for your car. is this price nuts?

    YES!!!!!!!!

but then again, i said the same thing when i could buy "PERFECT" key fobs for $400.00. those days are long gone. i wish they would come back, but we have to live in realility.

i regret having not bought a 275gtb/4, 3 yEARS AGO FOR $135K. however, the world has changed.

if you know of other venues to pursue my passions, let me know. i wish i knew them today.

Well, you could start buying the "classic" Ferraris and accessories before they get priced out of sight. That's what I am doing...

i would love to say that i agree with you, but reality is different.

show me a "dino" that i can buy for less than $45k, and we can talk. i want a 246 dino coupe.

the market has changed over the last 12 months. what i used to think was "absurd" is now the norm.

i would rather spend my money on cars i can restore and not "books". if you know of such a car, let me know. in the mean time, my interests are more on what i can observe.

does anyone know of a dino coupe for sale?

There are several on the market, a couple on ebay, but none for less than $60K, and those need some work.

Yes, even the Dino is rising fairly rapidly.

I've seen a couple of very good, but not perfect 246 GTS's in the past month, both were over $100K, and both would still need some effort to make them concours quality. They were certainly better than driver cars, but not 95+ point cars for sure.

That would make an equivalent GT about $80K. Which I would likely pass on if offered for my car.

Six months ago, I didn't buy a very nice driver GTS at $85K. OOPS!! My mistake.

Market on these is moving up, and the days of buying a car in the $40K range are long past. (I paid $40K for mine 2 years ago, but it needed all kinds of work.)

I have an original brochure for a 275 GTB/4 in excellent condition. Never thought of selling it but at these prices why not.

I have an absolutely "mint condition" ex...of: The Fabulous Porsche 917...by Peter Hinsdale...published by Jonathan Thompson.

Any ideas what it could be worth?

$100-200 depending on edition and condition. Based on your description, I'd figure the $200 would be fair.

When I bought my Dino 246 GTS from Symbolic, they didn't have the books, tools or jack. When they sold the books on Ebay, I couldn't help notice the claim that they had those for 15 years.
