This Dino concept is not so much an 'entry' model, or cheep Ferrari, as it is a lighter, tighter coupe. The Lotus feel of being one with the car. A sexy coupe to bring about a new model to Ferrari's already stunning line-up. Green light?

To me, the only thing that is dino about this thing is the badge on the front of the car.

IMHO, it needs to be mid-engined, small, very light, and a v6. SO, my response regarding eather to build this thing above or not speaks for itself. No.

well someone else posted it looked like a retarded gupy, and I agree with him. The headlamps brakes, wheels and calipers are all way over exagerated which makes the design not so appealing to me. Also looking at the car from a practical standpoint, there doesnt look like theres enough room to fit an engine behind the cockpit or in front of it

    so no

Wow. I agree the wheels are too big, but I think the design overall is stunning, far better than Ferrari's current offerings. I think this would be an instant classic and in fanatical demand.

The lower side intakes are innovative, and the fender/door curvature is amazing.

Maybe it's more of a smoking hot educated guppy in lingerie?

The doors look really small. It's going to be fun getting in and out, kind of like a Lotus Elan maybe.

I think all of those things could be Incorporated in this car. Judging by the looks of it, it has the Potential of having all of those characteristics....
I say build it!!! and give me one in the new F2007 Ferrari color!!!

The "new dino" talk keeps coming back up. Does anyone know for sure that the Factory is really considering this? I thought someone said they came out with an article denying the new Dino, but then that was counter-argued by someone who knew it really was a concept?

Being in Denver, we dont have all the "nice" car shows. Has this concept ever been unveiled/displayed a one of the "big" car shows (LA, Paris, NY, London)?

    Just curious.

BTW, my vote is, was and always has been BUILD IT! :)

    1) It does follow that artist's concept somewhat with a good honest clean up.

    2) It does honor to the original layout with a mid-engined traverse V6. I say make it about 3.6 litres and 400hp.

    3) It targets to beat the performance level of the Cayman S or 997S at about the cost of an Aston V8. Not kidding - if it looks good enough, people will stand in line at this price.

If it is a rehash of the Maserati front-engine car, fire the design bureau and start all over.

I think Ferrari should be building a Lotus Elise type car.

For me, the perfect form of a Sports car is light weight, with a great engine and a chassis to handle the engine's power. This is what the original Dino was all about.

It's not about being the absolute best in terms of sheer performance. It's about providing a balance of great performance, driver involvement and finally pedigree.

Spot on!, Agree the wheels look too big as do the headlights but this could just be the 'Wide Angle' effect chosen by the illustrator which emphasizes
and 'Grows' whatever is closet to the lens.

    It looks frightened. ;)

(Headlight cut-outs too extreme, and dark colored. Combined with the "clenched teeth" grill, ...)

"Is it alarmed?" "It's terrified." :D

I thought a Dino HAD to be a v6 to be a Dino. Given they did call the GT4 a Dino, but historically speaking, the Dino has been a V6.

My idea of a modern dino is very similar to another poster. Perhaps a bit different: 2300-2800lbs, transverse 3.0-3.5 liter V6 with 300-350bhp, Mid engine. This kind of car would be uber expensive I know, but it would undoubtedly be a dino and people would flock to it. Who knows.

maybe... if those headlamps went away... As I study the design more, I really do like the rear, great curves and lines I agree. The front though, the headlamps I think are what put me onto retarded guppy, maybe work with them the big wheels and then we have a hot little guppy

edit: and it is just a preemptive design... production cars always look a bit different... your right probably would be really nice

the concept pic posted here is beautiful and very faithful to the Dino essence in a modern design. i'd take it with the one exception being the wheels be at least 1-inch smaller than what is presented. all else is very Dino to me.

it's much more creative and Dino-esque than the first concept i saw published in Automobile magazine, that being a mere rip-off variant of the 599. how many variations of the 612 front-end can they stand to make?

SF can't keep up with demand now. How are they going to add a new model?

Maserati has taken the Dino's place in the pricing scale IMVHO.

Please don't ruine the marque with this "POS"!
    - Though, don't get me wrong; It's the general idea about the Dino that i think Ferrari shouldn't move into today... Why compete with Porsche when there's no reason to, whatsoever?! I think it's anything but good for the marque...

I say build it, but lose the silly oversized wheels and downscale the headlight
enclosure by 1/3. Otherwise the design is awesome. Keep the weight at about 2,500 lbs, give it 400 hp - nat. aspirated, all wheel drive and a proper gated shifter. Tasty!

they were planning on pricing this at 160k raising the 430 to about 270 and raising the 599 too, all to help deal with market demand I guess and because they can get it! They are going to make about 5,000 of these dinos a year basically doubling the current production of ferraris, getting help from the masers factory... according to 410sa and he has been spot on every time so i believe him

I would say built it with a few changes: wheels are too big, redo the headlights and the rear of the car.
