When did the transition take place from the eletric clock to the quartz?

when getting my very late 74 Dino inspected today, i noticed for the first time that the clock is a quartz clock, not the standard electric clock.

this dino (s/n 08468) is the 25th to last dino made. it has had two real owners that have owned the cars for more than 15 years each. based on the age of the clock and it's relative deterioration (at least compared to the other instruments), it corresponds to the the same age as the other gauges.

does anyone know when the "quartz" clocks first started to appear?

I have never seen a quartz clock in a Dino. Could you post a photo?

    Thank you -

My car (UK RHD) was manufactured in Jan 1973 and has a quartz clock.

I think the main difference is that the quartz ones keep working!

One plausible explanation is that a former owner at some time replaced the mechanical innards with a quartz movt., while keeping the face and hands "stock", as many current owners (including me) have done (Palo Alto Speedometer did mine).

the face is a quartz style clock that looks like a very early 308 clock. the gauge looks exactly as aged and patina'd as all the other gauges
