I received my Dino Compendium 2022 yesterday and i've been reading it all evening. If, like me, you can't afford a real Dino 206/246 this book is 'the next best thing' to own. The photography is really stunning. Thank you for releasing this book Matthias. Jan van Warendorp, The Netherlands
Have you been getting tracking updates from DHL? Mine hasn’t been updated in four days which means that either the package has not moved since Monday, or it has moved but tracking has not been updated. Neither is optimum service in my opinion.
Mine is currently awaiting customs clearance on the Germany side. A recent package from Germany took about 4 weeks to clear and then transport, so don’t hold your breath.
As far as I can tell from the last DHL update it’s already been processed by the “export center” so presumably that means customs, although it didn’t explicitly say so. I’ve recently received parts from Germany that had no delay for customs processing.
Here’s what mine looks like this am: Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why oh why do I always suggest Fedex?? First class, top priority, fastest possibly way. Yes, I know, five times as expensive but who cares, it's only money. DHL is nothing else than the normal Deutsche Post (German Postal Service) and that is, besides the Swiss one, the lousiest and poorest one all over Europe. And I haven't even mentioned the German customs........Whenever I buy something in Germany and have to bring stuff into Switzerland it is always the biggest nightmare and can easily cause a delay by a week or so. These German bureaucrats have zero idea what customer service is and simply don't give a shxt. (Yes, I know, Dino book author & publisher Matthias Bartz wants to ship with DHL, not blaming him). Waiting for mine here in the UK. DHL online tracking showed “failed attempted delivery” with “card left in door, returning to storage, ref number on card”. Nope, I been in 24hrs/day and no note/card through my letter box, so I don’t have a ref. number. All I have is the DHL shipping number in an email from when dispatched. DHL web tracking says that number is not exist. DHL online chat (auto chat, no human), keeps saying I don’t have a valid DHL tracking number. Anyway after doing a Google search on the shipping number I have (not the DHL web site, just Google), it turns out it’s a Parcel Force (different company) tracking number. I found the tracking and looks like it’s out for re delivery Monday. so for UK folk if you are having issues, try searching you track number on Parcel Force, not DHL. Kevin
Still waiting for my copy too. I despise DHL. Same as Marcel, I use FedEx exclusively for business & personal unless there is no other choice as with ordering this book. Several years ago I briefly had a DHL account which I canceled. Too many problems, extremely frustrating. I have the "DHL door" in my workshop which has a spot where I put my fist through the door due to problems with DHL. With that said, I am anxiously waiting to receive my copy! I missed buying the first edition when it was published, and could not bring myself to pay the current going rate for it. Thankfully I've got a second chance now to add this wonderful book to my modest automotive library. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That’s part of the problem in the US. DHL hands it off to a local courier whose tracking system may or not talk to DHL’s.
Indeed, turns out DHL handed the courier over to Parcel Force. However DHL did not inform me of that, and refused to acknowledge any form of the DHL specified tracking number. That’s because it had been assigned a Parcel Force Number. Parcel Force delivered mine today. Received my copy today. Even more extensive than the first edition, just wonderful. Thank you Matthias!
Arrived from DHL to USPS at Tampa FLA , USPS is USA Postal ... hope for success, fingers crossed Did you hear the Dino buyer at Gooding last year who fully paid yet Gooding held books, pouch, services receipts and original purchase papers for weeks then sent and lost by FedEx? Nightmare
