    Hi all:

I hope everyone is having a good 4th of July.

I did an "oops" the other day. I pulled the door handle to my 1973 Ferrari 246 GTSi a bit aggessively when the door was locked. Now the handle is stuck "flying" in the out position. The door will still open and close but it looks a bit silly.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? I assume I have to remove the interior door panel but I am affraid of what I might find :)

Thank you in advance for your help.

I think you should be OK. Just unscrew and remove the pannel. Odds are you bent a connecting rod/wire that with a little care and more time than you think it will take can be bent back into shape.

It it were the door handle I think it would have just broken off. Chromed pot metal if I remember correctly.

Funny thing about the Dino 246, if you lock the door and then try to open it too hard, you can break the small cable actuating the latch. I did this and used aircraft stainless cable for a little more strength. Lube it well as it follows in a little "L" shaped tube and can become frayed if it drys out. Kind of a tough little job if I remember right.
