Just got back from the dyno run. It was run on a MDXDyno. It was just a quick and dirty power run.

it produced 173Hp at the wheels in 4th gear. not sure what the loss ratio is, but it seems about right, as the guy said it looses about 30% through the transaxle.
We did a few runs, and this was the highest. He was getting different reading in different gears.
I don't know, the whole things seemed a bit dodgy.

Vid and graph to follow soon.

so is yours the Euro-spec version or the Aussie strangled version Ants ?

255 was supposed to be Euro so if you got 173 that would be close to the money assuming 30% loss which seems a lot.

Chassis dynos running through tyres CANNOT be relied upon to measure anything at all, whatsoever, ever, without exception.... nope, not even a little bit.

    Just compare.

Dynapack hub connected chassis dyno's can read accurately, but transaxle loss is still an estimate.

I have to agree with you on this.
I think he said 30%, which must also include the losses through the wheels. A lot of friction via the rubber and the rolling drums.

This was to establish a baseline anyway.

Looks like it's right on compared to these cars.
My exhaust is of unknown origins.

Thes car will produce another 1-2Hp when flying through the air to feed cold air :)

thanks Ash, must have been that little "dickie" burst that put me over the line :D

I could be doing better but I'm looking for a 348CH , heard there was one in Sydney , seems to have gone to ground, took a 355 for a spin today, but the panel fit seemed wrong for some reason :(

you getting any closer to that GT4 ?

I loved mine and will get another one someday, the sound is great.

no that's off the cards for a while now, i spent all that money on my fiat  if it lasts more than a week on the streets without being exiled from the universe for the staggering noise it makes it'll be interesting to see how it compares to goober's GT4. getting performance valve springs put in now, then it's back out terrorizing the tarmac and setting off car alarms up and down every street. :D

I spent a lot of money restoring my 2300S and although it is a lovely car it just doesn't have the punch of the line the Ferrari has due mainly to the fact it is a damn heavy car and 2.3 litres from the 60s had as much hp as a diesel generator for a single lightglobe :(

Still the police did clock it at 237kph coming into Uralla with my young bro driving (he reckoned, rightly, that the car was getting easier to drive the higher the speed ) he got so absorbed by the speed the OHOS was doing he wasn't watching far enough up the road and the cops were next to the Thunderbolt rocks with radar !!

Everytime we talk about that episode the speed goes up by 10-20kph :D

this happened back in the very early 80s when the fines were the only thing that you got , not locked up like today.

don't think we did any real speed runs with it, can't remember it being near to topped out, but can't beat the sound of redlining Ferrari V8 and screeching tyres all the way down the Eagle... and pissed off commode-door drivers!!!1 :D

off the line it's not too shabby... will have to really test it before flapping my yapper off though, i know it sounds faster than it is. got a bit more power than a Lotus Elise, but an extra 150kg (before the fat driver) to tool about too. just hope it can almost keep up with the Elise through hilly bits, i doubt it'll be useful/safe over 180

so 406 nM ?? how much is that in the old money ?

I always thought the torque curve for the 308 was flatter than that ?
