WOW! A 3.2 in a Dino! Very interesting. Any more info? How much heavier is a 3.2/8 versus a 2.4/6? Curious how she handles. What about the wheels? Were those upgraded as well? Suspension? Brakes?

I'm ashamed to say I didn't ask so I can't tell you. He did say the engine pretty much fit straight in, there wasn't much cutting about to do & that it was really quite quick!

Wow-----if I had two Dinos, maybe I would do this upgrade to one of them. But alas, I don't-------

I remember seeing the website of a place in the UK that does a V8 conversion. I can't remember the name, but a web search might turn it up. Amazing that it fits relatively easily.

A corresponding brake upgrade would be in order. The motor has to be quite a bit heavier, so the handling balance would likely be compromised to some extent.

I'm sure that the purists would have a conniption fit...

uuummmmm, no you wouldn't. but it does raise an interesting point, how many other dino have had this done? what is it like to drive? how does the installation work, there is already so limited room as it is?

Jeff McCormick knows...and the engine is actually lighter that the 246!! He has recently done a 246 gts with a 328 engine. I havent seen pictures but I know his work...always first class!!

Probably a significant performance improvement but with values of unmolested cars trending toward outer space likely a loser of an idea.

Dino body parts onto a 328 with a few tweaks to make it fit? You can buy a BUNCH of 328s and a pile of replacement Dino panels for what you'd be burning defacing a real Dino! And you'd have the engine on a chassis designed for it.

    Just a thought.

Nice idea but a Dino was handmade by Italian "panel beaters", a 328 is a bit more "stamped out". Bottom line, not much "bolt-on" on either one. The end result would likely be akin to a "kit car". You'd hate it.

Agree with MRONY and 2NA. A ridiculous idea and a travesty. In fact, the guy needs therapy.

Great picture. You are lucky to have seen so many Dinos together.

I am curious as to how many of these Dinos had Ferrari horses or logos added. Do you have a rough idea of the percentage?

Funny you should ask that - quite a few of them seemed to have aquired Dancing Donkeys on the front grill

The second and third Dinos in the line from the right appear to have additioal holes in the leading edge of the front lid. I have never seen a Dino with that before. What's up with those Dinos?

Just a trick of the pixels, I believe.

I thought so too, except that the holes only appear uniformly on those two Dinos, and nowhere else on the other line contrasts in the photos, although it does appear that there is some "waviness" in the roof-line above the green Dino's passenger side door - the other portions of the photos simply seem to be glare related artifacts. Perhaps the original poster could respond?

Just the camera/software I think. These were just snaps taken on a 4MP Canon powershot & then just shrunk in MS Photo Editor before posting.

I can e-mail the original if anyone wants it (about 1.6MB)

Actually, the Dino's body panels were stamped out. My source is "Inside Ferrari" by Michael Dregni.

The same phenonemon that gives the first Dino a "sawtooth" edge around the radiator inlet...
