1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, s/n 06442 hammered at $330K. Reserve was $325K. Estimates were $325K to $375K Car was described as needing some work and a good candidate for a full restoration but not sure what that meant. I sold two of my Dinos this week so market still seems strong. Ciao, Bill
$379,000 and $270,000. Down to just one Dino left but trying to buy an L and early M 246GT but no luck so far. Ciao, Bill
Bill, Should point out that the car that sold at the Gooding sale was a flairs and chairs car, FWIW. Ken
Of the four Dinos at Amelia Island only the Gooding chairs and flares sold in auction. The RM GTS sold post auction at 302.5k. I would have expected these to do better, especially the chairs and flares. What I thought did surprisingly well was the black RM GT that didn't sell. The 230k high bid seemed quite strong to me for a car that seemed very mediocre. Some speculated that that was just the auction company bidding it up. I don't know if that's ever done, sounds like something that should not be allowed. Anyways, there are two dinos at the Coys auction in the U.K. tomorrow - a GTS and a 206GT(!!!!!). All of those who've been wondering what 206's are worth these days will have a real data point...
With only 152? made the 206 is the most interesting Dino, and alloy bodied with an all aluminium engine. In what way was each 206 unique?
