My U.S. spec Dino had these headlights in it. I'm wondering if anyone has a CLUE why H4 Halogens, French manufacture, would have been in my US car that should have had sealed beam Westinghouse or Wagner 6014s.

The parts book does indicate that French cars had a different headlight than either the US or Euro cars.

Is this an early 70's halogen replacement thaqt could be had in the US?

I actually found replacement bulbs on Ebay last night. Just the bulb, not the entire headlight.

Seems it will fit Cibies and some other weird French lamp. I'll have the bulbs tomorrow. So, all is not lost. I may just put these back in my car when it's all over.

I have just bought two headlamps for my 246. When i purchased the car in April it arrived with one as new and one vey poor Carrello units as supplied OE,
I tried to locate a new Carrello unit within the UK but to no avail, even Superformance have sold the last of their supply!. ( I found one in Belgium for about £160.00 with shipping!!)
Then after chatting on here i realised that Carrellos are not exactly good at doing what they're supposed to do anyway, so i have just purchased two
Valeo units(or thats what the box say's) they are actually Cibie IODE H4s and cost roughly £40.00 the pair including lamps! apparently Valeo have bought out Cibie.
The only problem i have had was getting them in to the original headlamp bowls involve bending over three tags on each reflector rear but other than that alls fine.
All i need now is the rest of the car back from the paint shop.
    Maybe next summer?
