After the thread on 00468 I came across these photo's of a 246GT in Monaco that has had some unsympathetic mod's carried out - wire wheels, chrome strips along the bottom of the body, fake Ferrari badge in the wrong script on the rear (with holes for original badge still visible above the licence plate), chequered seatbelts, a very high nosebar that even protrudes below the front bumpers, dash and A pillars in wrong color, a door mirror that looks like it came from a Jaguar XJS etc.

    This just dumb.

I would understand if this picture was taken about 25 years ago, but it wasn't.

The chrome body trim makes the car look awefully silly

Well, on a positive note, ain't nobody sneaking up behind him with THAT rearview mirror.

Might have to dial up the left sided shocks because of the extra weight of it.....

Actually, this is an extremely rare car. It's possibly the only dino where you can see what's behind you.
With that bar on it, you can probably even see where the nose on the car is from the drivers seat.
It's the practical dino, for running to the store.

Ever thought someone has just owned this car from day one and the mods you see are years and years of accumulated additions? They look horrible for sure but who's to say the badges don't date back 30 years or that the wing mirror was just stuck on in 197-whatever to solve the visibility problems? Looks like a "life's work" kind of car to me and, if so, fair play to whover owns it...

    Good point.
The guys who still ahve their Dino since bought new are in the 60s or 70s of age
and they have all some kind of these modifications.
I still like the 246 and I even would buy it as all modifications are relatively easy
to undo. I don´t want to have them but find the Borranis an interesting view.

I assume it is an L series, which is kind of nice, and if it were to back to its orig. wheels, but then, it is not for sale right?
