Could all you dino owners with Leather upholstery please advise?

I am retrimming my car interior over the winter and would like to get the seats, door panles and firewall recovered.

Thought i may change these to leather.

What i need to know is

    1. Are the side door panels leather?
    2. Is the firewall, leather uphosltery?
    3. Are the side covers to door pillar, footwell, door window caps, roof and gear lever tunnel etc leather or vinyl?

At the moment i have tan vinyl daytona seats, firewall and door panels with black vinyl to the remaining. I assume the tan items would be leather and the remaining would be vinyl. Is this the case when the factory optional extra leather was fitted originally?

    Hi!

Door panels are leather, as is the firewall. I'm pretty sure that everything else you mention is vinyl (everything that's black in this photo). This car came from the factory with leather.

My car was factory Daytona interior.

I took all the original stuff off when I replaced it 4 years ago.

All leather on doors, seats and firewall. Except I think the window winder plug was vinyl, but I can't really remember clearly. I re-did that in leather.

Black trim pieces are vinyl. (The cap on top of the door panel, shifter, etc.) It's a grained vinyl, my upholsterer had no problem finding it.

yes, they are made out heat stamped vinyl. the holes don't have stitching around them, but rather as part of the stamping.

the photo you posted looks to be leather seats. i have never seen or heard of full vinyl daytona seats

Almost a shame to recover them Tony seeing as they are in such good condition.

They are in good order really except the foam is breaking up underneath.

Also the door and side panels do not match any longer. It was one of those jobs whereby i only did half the job and regret it ever since. Trouble is i wanted to retain the originality of the seats. But since most of the foam has now disappeared up the hoover and my butt is sore, its time to do something about them.

The idea is to now replace these so they all match. The black vinyl is cracking is certain places too.

i noticed the difference in the seats and the firewall, did you have the door panles and firewall done in leather?

i agree about the seats, they look to shiny to be leather, unless you just treated them

No they are vinyl, much to my annoyance. I did this work in the early years of my dino ownership. Green around the gills.

Never been haappy about it, the intention was to redo the seats in vinyl.

But it seems there are some really good deals to be had in the leather option now, so why not.

The smell of a new car (leather) in a 34 year old Dino........heaven
