    Help is needed again from the experts! Is there any way to tell if the below pictured nose badge is original? It was mounted on my early 246 when I bought the car and appears like it is 47 years old based on the beating it has taken. I would be reluctant to buy a replacement if there is any possibility that this is the original badge. I have also inserted a picture of the rear Dino script, same question here, is it likely to be original?

    Hi Peter,
    Turn them over, see if there's "OMEA" cast into the front badge and let's see where the mounting posts are on the rear one.

    It states "OMEA" and in smaller script "MILANO" on the back side. One of the threaded pins are broken. The Dinogt script have had both mounting pins cut off, but is very clear where they have been positioned. Sorry for the crappy pictures.

    These look right, repair and replate!
    I'm getting some nose badges redone in the UK, let me know if you need to re-enamel.

    My suggestion is buy a new repro one and keep the original in a box, if you ever sell the vehicle then pass it on with the car or as Andrew suggests. Trouble is you cannot reverse it if it goes wrong!

    It will eat into you every time you look at it on a totally restored car.........been there

    Thanks guys, I really appreciate your comments. The old badges will go back onto the car for sure since I now know that all three badges most likely are original. The Dinogt badge will go to my plater for new chrome and the side emblem will be treated with matt nickel. I have noticed that the nose panel looks a bit doll, have any of you ever tried to add a layer of gloss lacquer to make it look less tired and more dirt resistant? I think the badge is in too good condition to have it re-enamel.
