The Dino Books were mine. Buyer paid in full moments after auction ended. One of the under bidders paid winning bid as well... ? He has contacted me and said he paid just in case the hi bidder failed to pay. I have returned his money (Minus a stack of paypal fees...his loss not mine) but he is not upset in the least....only begging to get my next set if I find another. Just shy of 400 people clicked on the auction while it ran for ten days. 37 were actively tracking it. Not a "large" crowd by my standards. I have an old Wurlitzer Jukebox up right now that has has nearly 2000 hits / 200+ trackers and over 24 hours to go before the auction ends for comparison. Once again using the public auction format resulted in several of the early bidders being sent emails stating the auction had ended early and that the item had been relisted at a fixed price (buy it now.) They were given a link that was a near mirror image of the original listing except that it was a complete scam... Ebay is an amazing tool but does have its faults. I sware buy it but at least once a day I get an email that says my account has been closed and I need to provide my credit card number, social security number, bank account info etc... I can see why so many people get ripped off. I can also see why many of the old ways of marketing similar items is dead or nearly dead. I ALWAYS LIST MY NAME, MY COMPANY AND MY OWN PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL ADDRESS ON EACH ITEM I OFFER FOR SALE. IF SOME ONE MAKES THE MISTAKE OF BUYING SOMETHING BLINDLY AND SENDING MONEY TO LAGOS, NIGERIA, SINGAPORE ETC...FOR AN ITEM FOR SALE IN LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA THEY PROBABLY DESERVE TO GET RIPPED OFF. Most of the stuff I sell on Ebay has been sitting around in boxes or under my desk for 15+ years. Who knows how much of it I have lost, given away or simply missplaced. I had neither the patience or time to properly pack and carry the stuff to organize sales events or list it for sale in periodicals the way the traditional vendors do. Ebay is one heck of marketing tool...one that time after time has resulted in a great sale and incredible chance to meet clients I would never otherwise encounter. JUST A LITTLE VENTING BEFORE I START LOADING CARS FOR MONTEREY! But guys as always... Warm regards, Bill
Confused, help required ??? My car was registered 16/01/1974 (UK) which i guess makes it a 1973 production, my pouch is rounded corners with cream lining and gold box, does that make it a 72 pouch? The only books i got with the car are the parts book from serial No 02768 and the maintenance manual from serial No 02132. my car is No 07528, does that mean that the books(although some are obviously missing) are correct and the pouch is'nt? If so perhaps someone out there has the same problem with 72 car but 73 pouch now would'nt that be a bonus! Regards to all, Graham
Did anyone notice the tool kit that sold for $5200.00 and it did not contain the emergency triangle, manual window winder, or spare belts. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4582015113
Did anyone see the one on Ebay for $7K ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8033270250 .
the new ebay pouch is not only high dollar, but not completely correct. i expect that the seller will ammend his listing shortly. he is a reputable guy and won't want any confusion.
Only at $4500.00, still going and ends on tax day http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8054950418

I only have an operating manual, parts and additional instructions for USA 74 model. I need a pouch and the rest of the books that came with it. A fellow chatter has my warranty manual but apparently wants to keep it?? I have a few items that I can trade with.. Slightly used Tubi exhaust Original radio and elec antenna 5 original cromodora wheels 1 used ansa exhaust. 4 USA side lights 2 rear reflectors 1 tire hold down 4 used Koni shocks
No such thing as barter when it comes to this. It's all cash and carry, and right now it's pretty big cash, if ebay can be believed. Did you try to pay the big bucks for the items the other guy has? Green goes a long way in these negotiations. Gotta figure, in this market, that what you're looking for is about $5K+ worth of stuff. Which is why I still don't have an appropriate '72 pouch for my car. Last pouch on ebay was $4500, warranty book was about $600+-, and you want something specific that someone else has, which is gonna make it even tougher to pry out of his hands. I do wish you the best of luck on it, though. Dave
I did have a deal on the warranty book. There was a blank one on Ebay and I agreed not to bid and if he got it I would pay whatever it took for him to get the blank one. He got the warranty manual but then said he had a change of heart. So he kept both. I do cash, just thought somebody might need something.
An original pouch in allegedly excellent condition is now over $2000 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-Dino-leather-manual-pouch-246-308_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ119133QQihZ015QQitemZ250017252993QQrdZ1 Does it look authentic to others? That grain really comes out in the photo, but could be the flash
Again, as usual, the current top bidder should tell you all you need to know about its authenticity. nunzio828 does not make mistakes. DM
One pouch and two books, finest known to reputable Leonard C Green sold on Ebay for $8,000.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=006&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3APIC&viewitem=&item=160092902670&rd=1,1
enjoyed the threads on the pouches...i also understand cost related to need...and the desire to buy and collect these items for resale at a profit...but ..[here are my issues]those who have a passion for their car and its originality and spend countless hours restoring, researching and sweating the details[ and share same with photos ,questions answered etc] should have some priority!![price paid being the same or more of course]...eventually the person in need will have to pay whatever the price ends up after changing hands several times to those who wanted it for resale but really did not need it to complete their car...i have need for a 1970 variety of pouch ,cards etc..and am willing to pay whatever the price is...i would hope that this devoted site would assist in matching buyer and seller..or a seller advising dino chatters of important items that will be for sale, and qouting last price paid and wharever premiim he/she desires above and do a deal...and make a true dino owner in need,,,excited... he completed his project!!! to the benefit of the marque...and dino enthusiasts who appreciate the commitment and effort made...
I haven't seen one on eBay for a while. Does anyone know a guess as to where they're trading at now? Thank you
The ebay auction 320730934276 had an owner's pouch and 3 books plus warranty card sell for $5000.00. Is this a real price for that? Is it the warranty card that pushed the price so high? This is a 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Handbook Pouch and Literature. Serial #7279 Contents Include: *Original Warranty Card *Service Book *Operating, Maintenance and Service Book *Spare Parts Catalogue Leather Bound Pouch and Literature are in EXCELLENT condition. All contents are Original Printings, NO Reproductions.
That is a strong price for today's market, but the seller is a well known guy and there are shows quickly approaching...
Cody, Thank you for your opinion and offer to sell several offline, but it seems as a seller you have a conflict of interest. I think owners here would be the opinion of value.
