Over the last several years, i have been asked "what pouch is appropriate for this year Dino"? I have learned from many people over the years what is "correct" and what is not. In that time, i asked these questions for my own knowledge and not for public knowledge. However, in the last several years, the Dino guys have become quiet. I respect them, and therefore will not list them, but they know who they are. My knowledge comes from years of asking why and how come. Those who have helped me, you know who you are. If you want to speak up and add to this forum, please do so. Without you my knowledge, mine wouldn't exist.

Following, i am going to attampt to show the types of Dino pouches and the years they were appropraite for. Keep in mind, that these, as many things Ferrari, aren't specific to any model year, just what seems to be the most likely accepted use of that model year.

anyone who can add to this forum, or, at least dispute it for good reason, will help the Ferrari group.

This pouch look like style number 3, I will post photos soon.

It has a leather cover with a vinyl, tan insert (without the moray silk imprint).

It was used for years 1970-71.

The Dino on the pouch was surrounded by a box.

    Style number 3:

A leather pouch that is considerabley thinner than the early pouch, yet consistent with the pouch #2. The corners are rounded, like pouch #2, however, the interior is a tan, vinyl lining with a "silk morray print" on the vinyl.

This pouch was used primarily during 1972.

The Dino symbol is in a box.

A different style of pouch that's leather is considerabley thinner than the early pouch, and the style 2 & 3 pouches. The corners are squared and interior is a orange rust, silk morray lining.

This pouch was used primarily during 1973.

The Dino symbol is in a box.

A completely different style of pouch that's leather is considerabley thicker than the years before. This pouch has squared corners and a tan velour interior (almost like a synthetic suede.

This pouch was used primarily 1974 into 1975.

The Dino symbol NOT is in a box.

It is commonly accepted that this pouch is correct for early 308GT4's. However, i have not been able to verify this beyond a shadow of a doubt. this pouch may have been used on the very late 246 GTS's.

If anyone can Verify this, or at least add fule to the fire, I would appreciate it. At this point, I am willing to accept that pouch #6 only applies to 308GT4's

For those interested, here a a photo of the "Repro" done by chico that you see on ebay. Althoughth the repro is done well, it has a completely different exterior than the original Dino pouches.

Seems you've gathered enough to start comparisons.

BTW, never heard on the 275 pouch that TS won - sure looked like one of Chico207's South American repros that had intentional scuffs to appear as dated.

You guys seem like pouch experts, any ideas on pouches, manuals, or tools for a 250 GT? I have tried all the obvious suspects.

    Thanks

One note to #3 1972 pouch, V cut opening inside is opposite side from all other pouches. This is correct pouch but I don't know the reason for this change.

    all right,

i have a few more pouch photo types, courtesy of an f-chat member that has chosen not to post.

the first is the early 70-71 pouch interior that doesn;t show the "silki" type lining in the interior.

The exterior is the same as the nexdt pouch.

    Yup.

Two of our very own are slugging it out.

Who knows where this particularly nice example will end up.

Think nunzio is loosing his touch, may be losing steam. No snipe? bidding one hour before end of auction. What is he thinking!
Pretty soon Dino Pouches and complete handbooks could be back to $2500. What do you guys think??
