    Hi Guys,

I've scoured my local HOME DEPOT and other hardware stores to no avail. I've read several posts here about others (dm-n-stuff, carreaper, etc.) being able to go down to their HOME DEPOT and buying the foam.

I've searched on the internet under "foam", "sponge rubber", "closed cell neoprene" and various other terms. I was thinking to go to a furniture re-upholsterer because it looks like foam that they would use. But if it's not the right kind, it might deteriorate from all the heat.

Might some kind soul help me out the next time you find yourself in a HOME DEPOT? Or might some of you have some extra foam sitting around?

    Thanks in advance,

    Manny

    Manny,

Go to a foam manufacturer or mattress manufacturer. That's where I get all of mine -various densities always available.

I don't have any foam around my radiator. AC radiator is gone. Front fiberglas bottom panel just in back of radiator is also gone. I can see air pump for horns but not steering rack. No heat problems. If I wanted to fill gaps I would try split round black foam designed for insulating hot water pipe. Available in many sizes at Home Depot, OSH, etc. Use black silicone to attach where you want it.

Dino enthusiast, John Giordangno, made them for his platinum winning car and sells the correct ones for under $20, but told me he found the correct foam in a mattress store. I visitied many mattress stores on the West Coast and couldn't find it so bought one from him.
PM me with your email address and I'll introduce you, he's got some other nice bits and pieces for finishing off the car. Although he wins concourses, his is a trailer Queen

    Shross & Synchro,

I was about to go the mattress route next. But a kind soul has an extra one.

    John,

Thanks for your input as always.

    Pietro,

Thanks. I've never visited their site. Kinda fun to look around. Are you in Glendale as in Arizona? My parents live in Tempe. Maybe we can hook up next time I visit them.

    Thanks again,

    Manny

I had the same dilema and found the right foam at a fabric outlet and the old foam was so dirty and absorbed everything. My solution was to coat the foam with high heat red silicone, just used a putty knife and put two smooth coats on it and it looks good and won't absorb.

    Manny,

yes I am in Glendale AZ. The foam worked out great. Just a little trimming necessary.

Let me know when you are in town.

    Cheers

    Pietro
