    What color are you plating the hard lines that go from the brake caliper to the flexible brake line?
    Gold cad perhaps? Mine are so dirty they are difficult to see.

    They're not plated. They are sort of copper colored naturally. I can get you the specs if you want them and where I got the lines and fittings.

    Synchro - allow me to quote my response from your post concerning brake line plating.

    "Synchro - I do not believe that the lines are treated. They are standard hard brake lines of the day. I replaced them with a copper alloy line that has a copper appearance. I would not have them plated.

    You might take a look at this site. It has all the odd sized fittings that you will need. The proportioning valve fittings are different than the master cylinder. They have information on the various alloys of brake line, advantages and disadvantages.

    Hello Jon,
    Where did you source your radiator (looks aluminum), and is it the same for all Dino versions?
    I have an "L" series, and as I would have to ship it to the USA to have it copied, it sure would be
    nice to find someone that already has a pattern(s). Thank you.

    I hope it all comes together. It has been a HUGE undertaking. I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel. Nothing so far has been easy.

    A few days ago I started the engine for the first time. It ran a little rough because none of the carbs had been adjusted. No water leaks and no oil leaks. A problem though. The mechanical oil pressure guage registers 0. A call to Jim Selevan who graciously came down to check things out. We hooked up the idiot light which worked fine, so that shows at least 12 lbs for it to go off. We hooked up the original sender unit still registers 0. We took out the sender unit and oil flows well as the engine is running. Took off the line from the oil pump, enough pressure there that you can't put your finger and hold it there. There is no blockage in the heat exchanger. Ran an air line from where the oil filter unscrews to where the oil pressure sender unscrews, good airflow doesn't seem like any blockage there. Did that from both ends. Took out the pressure release valve and made sure it was clean. Bypassed the heat exchanger still no luck. No more time in the day, see what tomorrow brings. Jim is a great teacher as he explains the theory in all the things we were doing. Also got a great lesson on how to tune the carbs. Hopefully not something not major.

    Jon,
    Went back to page 87 and looked at the test stand. Hard to see where you missed anything but you never know. How about pulling coiled tubing and block fitting and putting air hose on it. See if mechanical gauge is honest. Hard to figure that something is plugged in the block but that is the check. Hope you did in fact record the start up, that the vibration was not too bad while carbs were getting adjusted and that all held together. Pressure on the oil line at the heat exchanger is good news. Go get 'em!
