Does anyone know where to obtain the rubber throttle cable bellows that fits over the steel tube that the throttle cale passes through in the engine bay. This bellow looks similar to the two clutch cable bellows but with a much larger ID opening (25mm) at the large end.

I have searched every supplier imaginable and have struck out on this apparently unavailable part. Attached is a picture of my damaged one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

I too have hit a wall looking for the exact same part. I am sure the F-chat legions will come to the rescue on this one.

Called them, it seems they make everything custom ($) as they make each individual mould.
They will call me back...Probably would have to provide a sample. Do all Dino have this part?

I am in a position to remanufacture the bellows in question from a chemical resistant silicone.

The bellows could be created in a minimum run of 20 pieces for $35 a piece.

The material that these bellows would be created from differ from the those at McMaster Carr, mine will be aircraft silicone. M-C's are latex and neoprene, neither material will last long under the hood of a car.

If i did this project, a sample bellow that could be measured to create the CAD data and the tooling from is required. It would take about 6 weeks for delivery.

Can you also make the clutch cable bellows?
It is especially sensitive for contamination at the rear where it opens upwards and dirt/dust could drop down into it.

This is part of the reason why a clutch job gets expensive - the cable is usually replaced and it is nearly as expensive as the disc/pressure plate.

I may have an unused NOS to use as a mold master

    I'm in for one.

As for the clutch bellows Denis McCann has them and they are pretty cheap. Also if you are really in a pinch some Fiat clutch cable kits come with them. You can buy the whole cable for about 15 bucks, trash it all and us the bellows.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Alex Bacon and my company has the ability to create parts and assemblies. The company is design firm with rapid prototyping and short run tooling capabilities. If you would like to see more about it, www.alphastudioonline.com is where you will find us.

Additionally, I have created a Sports Racer Alfa Romeo that was recently shown at the French Italian show at Woodley park here in Southern California. Below are some links to pictures of that vehicle

We are capable of producing the bellows, but we would need interest in order to produce them.

If there are other components anyone believes to be required, please let us know.

Looks like beautiful work. especially the front grills. what was the process there?

    Re group purchase
Perhaps you could fix a price per unit, with a minimum quantity run,
perhaps you could take credit card deposits of 10% of the order value and when you have received sufficient orders you could start your work.
Perhaps if you do not get a sufficient number of orders in a specified period, you could keep the 10% for your trouble.

Could you make the chrome windshield trim?

    Gentlemen,

I proposed that for a quantity of 20, we could create the bellows for $35 each. There seems to be a loss in interest for this component in such a large quantity. We are able to create these bellows in lower quantities for the price of $475 each for 2 or $225 each for 4. This does seem like a heavy price, but understand that this would be an accurate reproduction of the orginal for those that are interested. There is a group of owners who find it acceptable to use perhaps a McMaster Carr component. We are not for those owners. We are for the owners who are interested in recreating the original appearance of components. Honestly, a wad of blue silicone would keep debris out and function....

It's an economy of scale here boys... We are doing CAD work and creating rapid prototype parts and creating tooling..... IF you walked into our studio, we could create a one of a kind component duplicating the subtle nuance of your part.... and it would cost you $1,000... we are attempting to apply our craftsmanship and knowledge paired with our technology to make it less of a pain in the ass for some owners to locate unavailable parts.....

Our interest in providing parts, handling money down and such is not worth our time. If several of you can get organized, we can create components...

A good master is of course needed to provide the best components.

With respect to the last question, we have created window trim components, just not for Dinos. You can expect that in a one off situation these would be pricey, if many were ordered the price would drop. We will, of course, not begin to estimate a price without seeing the trim.

We can also create components for shifter carts, any shifter cart drivers?

    Thank you.

As previously stated, I am interested in two pieces. Do I hear more?

Let's get this one rolling, send a check to our friendly purveyor Abacon, and do it once and for all.
I am almost certain that we could interest Colin at Superformance to order a few.
I will pass this info to him and see if we can get results. Come on guys!

Hi Alberto. I actually have spoken to Colin about 2 weeks ago on this item. He was to speak to his rubber supplier in South Africa and get back to me..he seemed very confident and interested. I will also follow up with him and post results.

    Cheers.

Hi guys, I was crawling around under my Dino a couple days ago and was reminded (again) that I need a new bellows. Just wondering if there's been any progress on finding a replacement throttle cable bellows. Both threads on this subject died in the March-April timeframe. Apparently, the Porsche 914 idea didn't pan-out.
