Repost. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=323249 Some glaring factual errors in the article about the 355 and I certainly don't agree with authors perspective on which is the preferred car. Why do they even have to "pick"? It's way too subjective to be useful to anyone. Apples and coconuts. 355 prices definitely are inching upward for the moment.
I bought a copy last week when I saw it in Border's...I couldn't agree more, the 355 IS a gorgeous timeless design that's sure to appreciate to $150k!!!
The selection of one over the other is very silly. Clearly if given the choice of one vs the other, identical condition, one worth 3 times more than the other. That issue aside drivability no comparison. In terms of choice, purly subjective. Nonetheless great article.
Have to remember to go to Border's today and pick one up. I like that they call it "the 90's supercar"!
Save yourself the trip if you have an iPad and buy it through the Zinio app. I think it was about $5.23 USD. Instant gratification never felt so good.
Absolutely It's all part of our evil scheme to push prices the other direction. I'm hoping to trade mine for a 458 someday
Love the Dino, but in SA the prices are on par for a Dino vs 355 (ZAR1.2mio-1.5mio) USDZAR 6.90 Its a shame we dont have access to the same pricing like the US and UK get
The good news with media is that it can absolutely affect consumer attitudes and perception. So, an article forecasting that the next great collectible Ferrari is an F355 is a step in the right direction on values. Journalists are remarkably consistent in their appraisal of the 355, and it is always positive if not glowing. That, alone, is reason for the cars to appreciate; they happen to be hugely capable supercars and gorgeous at that.
Geez!, what a bunch of crap. These two cars have zip to do with each other and a cazillion years apart...pure science fiction.
I hate to tell you this -- and I'm not knocking the 355 -- but the little Dino is more Ferrari than a 355.
