I have some thoughts bouncing around about decidedly non-original mods, and don't really want to do them to the 328.

I know of a couple of GT4s with bad motors and such. What would be a fair price for a GT4 without a motor and tranny, just the complete body and mechanicals (suspension, rack, brakes, etc?)

(and don't worry -- if I decide to build this, you all will never have to hear about it :D)

I have'nt seen a GT4 w/o an engine or tranny for sale. I saw a wrecked one for sale, it had some front end dammage but everything else was fine. I think he still wanted around 14K for the car still. But its been a while so I may be a bit off on the price.
What about the ones with the bad motors you know about? Would'nt that work for you?
Do you know whats wrong with the motors? Are they for sale. I'd like one to take apart and play with if it was cheep enough. :)

Martin (fom Cavallino Motors) had that 208 GT4 project for sale about a year or two ago. It was only a couple of thousand dollars, but needed a ton of work.

Haven't seen something like that since.

You can always find a rough tatty 308 on eBay and hot-rod that... I've had similar ideas before (like you, I wouldn't want to mess with the one I have now, its too nice).

If you are planning on a more powerful than standard engine, you might want to do some work on the brakes too.

Even my 208 feels underbraked compared to a modern car.

Any luck finding the GT4 w/o the engine & Trans. ?

Thanks Peter. I will be going to some of the Seatle area events this summer. Will you be down for those or maybe a little farther south ? I'd post a pic. or two if my digital camera wasn't on the fritz.
