i did the relay wiring conversion for the 308 headlamp popup mod (headlamp boxes down when using parking lamps) last week. thanks to the faq on this site it was an easy, 30 minute job. when i went looking for diodes at radio shack their supply was sad - 1 amp max capacity. however they had a brick full wave diode bridge with spade connectors that made the installation very quick. the unit is rated for way more current then you'ld ever need and the peak inverse voltage rating is for 50 volts so perfect for a 12 volt system. connect each fuse line (high and low beam) separately to each of the ac inputs (wavy line) and the + terminal to the relay input. thought i'd pass it on. regards, jon s.

Did the same thing to get the foglights AND passing lights to work in an European Mondial t. Basically, now, when the headlights are down, the bumper lights are flashing passing lights, when the headlights are up, they become fog-lights... Usually the foglight circuit was disabled in non UK cars going for passing lights...

All the wiring was there, but disconnected behing the light units. I used 30A rated 100V max diodes and it all works perfectly. If you screw the diode into a metal strip, you'll really be supersure it will not overheat, although I can't see it ever doing so with the loads a 12V - 55W bulb circuit can shove through it.
