Thanks for posting these. I have my new sponsor graphics in and will be placing them before a car show on March 13th. At that point I'll send you the updated pics so we can get (at least 4) models made up. Those are for the 3 major race team sponsors and one for me. I'll also ask on the board if anyone else wants one. How large of an order do you think you could handle? Thanks! rob
Uh, oh, jumping up and down with excitement! And looking at that Cavallino model, whoa, can't wait. Will it have tiny Forrer stickers on it?
Geez, what a maglomeniac I am... Can't wait to see some pics of the car. Especially at a concours and bystanders wondering who that Forrer billionaire is. Just tell them I invented sticky notes...
That is too cool... i need one of those silver ones but more importantly, i need to get my mits on the FerrariChat.com 355 Challenge.. Maybe i should sponsor the friggin' site... Hmmm... Wonder if Bruce will lend me the money...?
I was finally able to purchase a brand new in box F355 challenge #7 silver from hot wheels!! I got a good deal on Ebay...BTW, it is #97 in my 1/18 Ferrari collection.
I do have some pics, but not updated....I think my latest pic is missing the F355C, 612S, and 360CS...
Rob, there's one more model of the Steve Earle car, in 1/43 scale and very accurate. Bang #9609 is Steve's 355 as it ran at the Challenge World Finals in Italy in 1996 (different numbers were assigned, so Steve was #99). The 1/64 Hotwheels in both silver and yellow are very inaccurate in their decals, so much so that it's very hard to describe these as models of Steve Earle's car. The same holds true of the silver Matchbox 355 in 1/18. The later "dirty" versions of both the 355 and 360 are very accurate in their decalling. (Among other things the sponsor decals on the earlier 355s are European sponsors, and Steve Earle never ran as #7, always as #07.) Also, the previous owner of your car was Ed Martinez, not "Dan". Ed crashed the car badly at Road Atlanta (and was injured in the crash). The car was substantially rebuilt after that crash. At the time of Ed's death he had just acquired a 360 for the Challenge, but never got to race it. This is the Bang model: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Did you know about the crash, Rob??? Dr. Earle was very nice to me at Indy one year, when I was hanging around the pits. He's my hero! A fast driver, too.
