Not sure If anyone else has done this before.

IMHO. The fact that the windows on many of the Ferrari models do not go all the way down is...well...annoying.
I am over 6 foot and have fairly long arms so, driving with elbow/arm out the window has always been very comfortable for me.

I had to replace the lower doorskins on my 308 as some "tin bash" bodyshop which a previous owner hired to do the repair welded in some sheet metal and then added no less than a 1/2" of bondo to hide the incredible job they performed. I looked at the door for about 2 weeks with the skin off and tryed to see if there was any way to add a newer style window guide system into the door shell, but realized it was just too difficult to find the same contour, lenght and width to fit in these doors. So i modified the existing guide system to drop the window just over an Inch to make the window wind all the way down.

The first picture shows the window in the down position without the trim in place so you can see there actually is a window in there and the second pic shows the trim in place (but not rivited) and the modified guides at the bottom.

This door was my Sacrifical Lamb so to speak, I think I will create "cut out weld in" solution for the next door as to make it much easier foe alignment and clearance.

Have you looked at a different power window mechanism. I have been looking at some aftermarket / hotrod type stuff and so far the only one that looks good is for a jeep . I would like to figure out a bolt in replacement. Nice job

I was looking that route as well, I found that the Acura RSX has the same contour window and it is approximately the same lenght, but have not seen the internal mechanism.
