Taking it apart is easy. Good luck on the assembly. That's why I'm rather conservative on what I disassemble and what not.

For them it is a lot easier to disassemble these cars, they got smaller hands and tools.
    :)

Aren't you worried that the masked dude one day will get his chain caught up in a timing belt and that'll be his demise? I see a gruesome story in the making...

Too bad for him, but think about all the expensive valves and pistons killed in the process...

Google search "disassembling a Kyosho 328" and this thread is the first search result.

I am reviving this old thread because I am working a new project. I have a 1:18 Kyosho 328 GTB red/black, and a 1:18 Kyosho 328 GTB black/tan. I want to swap the colors and have a black/black and red/tan. Keeping the black/black, ebay the red/tan.

I pulled the screws out underneath for the front valance, and the rear valance/muffler. Pulled the center one out halfway down the chassis. Underneath the valances were two more in front, two in the frame rails, and two up in the engine bay (when looking from underneath).

The front end of the chassis is loose from the body, but the back end seems stuck around the engine.

So what is my next step, and is the interior attached to the body or the chassis?

Thanks for the help - if you help me achieve the black/black one, the red/tan is up for grabs.

I've taken pictures of the disassembly of the 308. I guess the 328 should be basically the same.

    1. Remove the rear lower valance. Be careful for the muffler. It's glued into the valance with small pins. It's almost impossible to not break the pins off. So you'll have to glue the muffler back on once you're done assembling.

    7. Now you can take the body and interior off the chassisplate. But be careful: the engine is still connected to the rear part by the engine mount and some lines. I don't think there's a way without breaking those lines.

Once you've removed screws #7 and the engine, the interior should come out easily. Mind the steering column though.

If you want to switch the door panels as well: good luck! They are glued into place with two large pins in holes inside the doors. Try to gently wriggle them loose. Be carful not to tear the panel. It's only plastic! The window glass is tucked between the door and the door panel.

Anyone 's thought about buying it eventually????:D
Like that you keep the GTB and you got an original GTS as well... something you'd definitely consider in case we were talking about scale 1:1.....

Peter - unbelievable! Thank you, thank you, thank you. The screws in the wheel wells are what stopped me. I will post progress over the next few days.

My end goal is to have a 328 GTS black and black. Since I can't find a Kyosho GTS right now, I figured I would make a GTB black and black without any aftermarket painting. Then maybe spray a little satin black to look like a GTS roof.

I will start with baby steps. I do have my Anson version, that I painted the interior and changed the wheels.

With your instructions, I disassembled one on 4 minutes. Are the interior door panels glued or screwed, since I have to change those, too?
