I recently read that having over 40k miles on the clock is degrading of the cars value.. So could somebody point me in the direction of how it is best to disconnect the odometer as I have watched Ferris Bueller and know running the car backwards doesn't take the mileage off....
Well it was a movie. They were wrong. With a mechanical speedo it works quite well given enough time.
I hope you are joking. The last thing we need is to know that we here condone defrauding future purchasers. But it is very easy to do. I'm proud of my cars miles.
Leave the shenanigans to the movies and the 308s. Previous dealers of the latter were notorious for it anyway. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/486426-disconnect-odometer.html
If a person disconnects the odometer the car will still go over 40K miles. The only difference is that the owner is a liar, a cheat and in many cases a criminal.
just disconnect the sensor wires...sensor is on the right side, RHD like your car, drivers side, behind rear wheel. But your are just fooling yourself...you will not be able to see how fast you drive...and will collect one ticket after one other. Guido
Doesnt matter how much you wink you have now documented yourself.......That'll be a "Scarlett A" for you...lol
A QVs up for sale here at the moment with no stated mileage. I Googled around looking for some history to see what I could find. Feb 2013 it comes to auction showing some 65,000 miles to its odometer. 1984 Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalvole Auction - Classic Car Auctions & Sale - H&H Sept 2013 its back to auction with 20,431 miles which are believed to be genuine.
