A sneak preview of the upcoming series 'Chasing Classic Cars", will have a sneak peak of four episodes starting on June 3rd at 8:00pm EST. This will be airing on Discovery HD Theater. Although the first four episodes don't feature any Ferraris...most of the other episodes will. The series premier of all the eposides will launch in the Fall on the Discovery Channel. Here's a description of episode #1:

    Chasing Classic Cars: Episode 1
Bugatti Barn Find of the Century – The One the Got Away

Experience the thrill of discovery with master car restorer Wayne Carini, as he pulls open the doors of a secluded garage in Westchester, NY to reveal the automotive barn find of the century – an extremely rare 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Atalante Coupe. Untouched for nearly 50 years, the car is a restorer’s dream. When the Bugatti goes up for sale at the elite Christie’s auction at the Concours D’Elegance in Greenwich, CT, Wayne and his wealthy client must do battle with an anonymous phone bidder or risk letting the Bugatti slip through their fingers. When the hammer falls the sale price leaves the car world stunned and Wayne left wondering if the Bugatti is the one that got away.

As the producer and creater of the series, and Ferrari owner, its been a blast. The 5th episode, which airs in the Fall, we find a Daytona Spyder that had been hidden in a shed outside of Edwards Airforce Base in CA for over 20 years. The original owner buys it back...its a great journey to say the least.

Eh Disco and HD Theater are two different channels. Disco has their 'Discovery HD Theater' but it's a different channel. I think.

The series will air on HD Theater, now and in the Fall. It is a 24 minute per episode series. One episode is about the hunt for Dino's...another a Daytona Spyder barn find and a Lusso restoration. Oh...I can't forget to mention the Davis episode...a real Davis is uncovered in SoCal.

I just watched the HD show on Ken Okuyama and the creation of the Maserati Birdcage 75th. That car is so beautiful it wets my eyes.

I enjoyed it. And it was quite a find. The story was equally interesting. I wanted to know what the other cars were in the garage. I couldn't make out what the car to the left was.

Jima, job well done! I look forward to the next episodes.

I caught the first episode last night and was very impressed. Finally a US automotive show that isn't a disappointment!

If I'm not mistaken wasn't this at the Concours last year? I remember seeing a dusty Bugatti - sort of burgundy if I recall - and it went for something like $800K ? Maybe I'm wrong about the sale price, but there was a vintage barn-find Bugatti at the auction last year.

Episode 2 airs tonight, Tuesday June 10th, at 8:00 pm on Discovery HD Theater.
    Monterey Auction Week
Monterey auction week is the must see event of the collector car world. Held every year, it attracts the richest collectors trying to buy the most expensive cars in the world. Wayne is a fixture at the events and the auctions. He buys and he sells and this year he is selling a few unusual cars. He has brought with him four cars to sell…a 1953 Volkswagen Beetle convertible, a 1958 Beetle sunroof coupe, a 1936 Cadillac V12 roadster and a 1972 Mercedes 280SL. The first three he will sell at the Christies auction…the Mercedes SL Wayne will try to sell on the streets of Carmel with an old fashioned for sale sign in the window. The drama unfolds as we watch the action at the auctions. (Hint…Wayne sets a new record for one of the cars)

Ok...where are the Ferrari's? Episode 5 features a long-lost Daytona Spider. After sitting in a shed in CA since 1982, its reunited with the original owner...for a lot of money!

Hey, what happened to this show?

We watched the first few episodes and then no more. Has it been taken off the air.

Really enjoyed the show, and was waiting for the Ferraris.
