    I love me some Discovery channel.

    But gawd, is Smashlab a horrible, horrible show, or what?

    I think they are trying to capitalize on the success of Mythbusters, there are certainly worse ways to spend an hour in front of the TV.

    Yes, it's that bad. Smashlab:Mythbusters::GoBots:Transformers

    I'm admittedly a Mythbusters fan. Mythbusters works because the people on the show are likeable, geeky, intelligent, and appear to be having fun, and are self aware of how rediculous some of the things they attempt really are.

    Smashlab is like watching the jocks and cheerleaders try to pretend they're in the science club.

    Yeah smashlab is bad - FD hit the nail on the head. MB they pull off the geeky thing quite well, on SL they just appear to be talking heads - people chosen for their hipster/cool look and they just come across as having no idea at all what they are doing and you get the feeling they are laughing at you for being a dork for watching their show.

    I thought I was the only one. Glad to see I am not.

    I just can't watch a full episode of smash lab. Not very exciting to me.

    I like the concept and some of the things they do but to make it work Discovery needs to find some different people. The episode with the aerated concrete was kind of cool to see put into use.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the people on SmashLab annoying!

    I only watched part of one episode-- where they were going to put an airbag on the front of a train??-- before I gave up.

    She really adds nothing to the show. She is just there, so the rest of the team doesnt look gay. Kind of like Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas.

    I disagree. Kari is smart and adds a lot to the show however I wish they would bring back Scottie (hot blond, good with power tools).

    honestly, i haven't watched it. it looked almost too similar to mythbusters, imo.
