Is it possible to dismantle the mirror of a Mondial 3.4 T? Due to rust-problems of the left mirror, I have to seperate the outside metal cover (the matt-black front-side) from the plastic innerwork (with motor and mirror). Can anyone advise me? Many thanks, Jan Wiltink / Netherlands.
Dont know about these specific mirrors but most electric mirrors are designed the same way. If you adjust it fully tilted so there is a gap at the bottom between the mirror and the body of the unit, look up into the gap and there might be a plastic lug which protrudes downwards right next to the back of the mirror plate. Push this to one side with a screwdriver. This turns a locking plate which is glued to the back of the mirror and unlocks it from a matching plate on the motor.
Ask this member, maybe he can help you. He also has a web page Birdmanferrari.com I copied his web page name from the internet, I hope he doesn't mind if I did that. On his page he has all sorts of good information This makes me wonder if other enthusiaiast's have web pages such as his ? There is info for the 308 mondial. [email protected]
