Burned out a rotor last month and thought there must be a use for such a valuable item! Whenever I removed a distributer, it was always a challenge to re-install it with the rotor in the right spline..seems I was always one tooth off! I glued a wooden block and cardboard disc to the old rotor so before I remove the distributer, I slip this unit on in place of the good rotor and mark the cardboard disc and the distributer housing. When things go back together (If the motor has not been turned over) the distributer is installed with the marks in alignment...the timing is right on! The block shims the cardboard disc so it is close to the distributer housing instead if with a large standoff as with the good rotor. Hope this helps you as much as it does me Dave Image Unavailable, Please Login
