I am trying to remove the wires from the cap. I took out the plug wires with the screw inside the cap at each location. The problem is the coil wire in the center. It doesn't have a screw head on it. How does that one come out? Is it so worn out the slot is gone?

    Thanks in advance.

No, it's not worn out. In fact, it's directly beneath the spring loaded centre piece. All you need to do is back it out slowly by turning it to the left.

The harder part is putting it back in. That's where careful spring manipulation comes into play. Use a very small slot head screwdriver (the smallest one you can find), and carefully reintroduce the sring back into the opening while slowly turning it to the right.

I've tried my best not to be difficult in my explanation. I hope I've assisted you.
    Good luck

You may need a new carbon brush as well. It's what fits in that center hole covering the screw.
