    Hello Ferrari enthusiasts,

I hope this post finds you all well. I'm reaching out to the community for some guidance on a Christmas Shutdown project I'm about to undertake involving the installation of new camshafts from Catcams on my Ferrari. Specifically, I'm looking for advice on how to remove the distributor drive from the existing camshafts and transfer it to the new ones.

I've done some research, however I haven't found any information of anyone else doing this. I want to make sure I have all the information before I dive in. My understanding is that there's a pin involved, and once that's removed, the drive can be removed and reinstalled on the new camshafts. However, I'd love to hear from those of you who have experience with this procedure.

Here are a few specific questions I have:
    1. Is removing the pin the only step involved in taking the distributor drive off the camshafts?
    2. Are there any special tools required for this task, or is it a matter of carefully using pushing the pin with a hydraulic press?
    3. Are there any precautions I should take to ensure I don't damage any components during the removal and reinstallation process?
    4. Any additional tips or insights from your experiences would be greatly appreciated.
With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, I want to take a moment to wish you all Happy Holidays! May your time be filled with joy, laughter, and of course, some quality moments spent with your beloved Ferraris. Here's to a fantastic season of celebration and, for some of us, a bit of tinkering in the garage!

Not really something the requires any engineering to accomplish. Support end of cam. With hammer and pin punch drive pin out. With long rod installed length of cam, hammer distributor drive out.

I've found this is easier with 2 people. One holding the cam straight horizontal and keeping it from rotating, the other operating the press and holding the punch to press the pin out.
