Hopefully the pictures state my question more clearly. Does anyone know if the oil seal in the distributor mounting plate has changed? It looks like the old one came with a thin metal race attached that pressed into the plate. The replacement seal has no race. Anyone know if the old metal race is to be pressed out before the new seal is installed? The old rubber has been pulled free from this race. Thanks..... Eric, That metal race you refer to is part of the old seal. Most of the seals that I've installed, that came from Ferrari, had a metal outer shell, as your original one did. The never manufactured seals have a rubber coated outer edge.... So, remove the old metal seal remains...and install your newer seal. Regards, David
